WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS PERMIT (WTP) NO. 2024-02

DIRECTOR APPROVAL REQUEST (DAR) NO. 2025-09

Place: City Council Chambers, Norwalk City Hall, 12700 Norwalk Boulevard, Norwalk, CA 90650

Project Description: For the Planning Commission to consider the following applications filed by Leticia Smith of Smartink, on behalf of APC Towers (“Applicant”); a request to construct and operate an unmanned wireless telecommunications facility designed as a 60-foot mono-pine (WTP No. 2024-02). The applicant is also requesting to install an eight (8) foot high block wall to enclose the equipment area (DAR No. 2025-09). The subject property, at one (1) acre in size, is generally known as 12616 Pioneer Boulevard (also known as Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) 8048-013-011), located within the C-3 (General Commercial) zone.

Environmental Review Information: Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the project will not have a significant effect on the environment per Section 15303 (New Construction of Small Structures) of the CEQA Guidelines. Section 15303 Class 3 consists of construction of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures, and installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures.

Public Comment: Interested persons are invited to attend this hearing and be heard regarding this matter. Written comments may be submitted to the Community Development Department prior to the time set for the hearing. Address written comments: Attention: Community Development Department at the address noted above or by email to planning@norwalkca.gov. You may watch the meeting from home on Charter Channel 3, Verizon Fios Channel 32, or livestream through the City’s website. If you challenge the proposed matter, you may be limited to only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered prior to the public hearing.
