NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ORDINANCE NO. 25-1761
ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2025 CALIFORNIA CODES

Description: The City Council of the City of Norwalk will conduct a public hearing to consider adoption of Ordinance No. 25-1761 which will adopt by reference the 2025 editions of California Building, Residential, Fire, Wildland-urban Interface, Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, Existing Building and Green Building Standards Codes; and amend the Norwalk Municipal Code. The proposed Ordinance will amend Chapters 15.04, 15.06, 15.08, 15.10, 15.12, 15.16, 15.20, 15.24, 15.26, 15.28, 15.30, and 15.32 of the Norwalk Municipal Code.
Ordinance No. 25-1761 modifies the codes to provide for specific local climatic, geologic and topographic conditions. Most of the changes and modifications are the same or substantially similar to those that the City has adopted for previous codes. The modifications to the California Codes contain vital provisions regarding administrative procedures, roofing materials, seismic requirements, foundation requirements, pool safety barriers and other matters necessitated by the City’s exposure to the specific local climatic, geologic and topographic conditions.
Public Comment: Interested persons are invited to attend this hearing and be heard regarding this matter. Written comments may be submitted to the City Council prior to the time set for the hearing. Address written comments: Attention City Clerk at the address noted above or by email to Clerk@norwalkca.gov. You may watch the meeting on Charter Channel 3, Verizon Fios Channel 32, or livestream through the City’s website. If you challenge the proposed matter, you may be limited to only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered prior to the public hearing.
