Gas prices reach highest amounts since November

NORWALK – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Wednesday to its highest amount since Nov. 28, increasing 1.1 cents to $4.975, its fifth increase in six days.

The average price has risen 4.5 cents over the past six days, including seven-tenths of a cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

It rose three consecutive days, dropped one- tenth of a cent Monday and resumed increasing Tuesday.

In Norwalk, the cheapest gasonline is at Costco, where a gallon of unleaded cost $4.38 as of Thursday.

The average price is 4.4 cents more than one week ago, 16.6 cents higher than one month ago and 10 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.519 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose to its highest amount since Nov. 20, increasing 2.1 cents to $4.933, its fifth increase in six days. It has risen 5.4 cents over the past six days, including four-tenths of a cent Tuesday. The Orange County average price rose three consecutive days, dropped two-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed increasing Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 5.3 cents more than one week ago, 16.7 cents higher than one month ago and 10.9 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.526 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose for the eighth consecutive day, increasing 2.6 cents to $3.515. It has risen 12.1 cents over the past eight days, including 2.2 cents Tuesday.

The national average price is 11.9 cents more than one week ago, 23.9 cents higher than one month ago and 7.2 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.501 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
