NORWALK – Norwalk’s Public Safety Department is kicking off its series of Neighborhood Block Parties this Saturday, July 13.

The events provide residents an opportunity to connect with neighbors and local law enforcement, including Public Safety and Sheriff’s Department personnel, over a barbecue lunch to build stronger, safer neighborhoods.

“These events reflect the department’s community policing efforts to foster trust and positive communications with residents crucial for reduction of crime and higher quality of life,” city officials said.

Attendees will receive a hot dog, hamburger, chips and drinks. Games and children’s activities will be offered for families.

Saturday’s event will take place at Sara Mendez Park, 11660 Dune St., from 12-2 p.m. For questions, call Public Safety at (562) 929-5732.
