NORWALK – The Norwalk Chamber of Commerce held its first open house of the year in its new location at 14783 Carmenita Road.

When asked about the new location choice, Executive Director Caren Spilsbury said, “Price, visibility and space.”

The previous location was in a residential area and Spilsbury added, “It feels more like an actual business.”

That’s because the new office is located in a business complex on Carmenita Road right next to another complex across the street in Santa Fe Springs.

Those in attendance were networking and catching up with old friends.

Greeting and promoting her organization’s upcoming golf event was Little Lake School Board Member Dora Sandoval.

Sitting and chatting with others was former Norwalk mayor Cheri Kelly.

Also touting an upcoming Chamber golf event, Spilsbury reminded everyone of March 14th’s date for the 5th annual 9-hole “Spring Swing” tournament to be held at Norwalk’s rejuvenated Don Knabe Golf Center.

Prices for individual and team sponsorship start at $50 per person. Proceeds from the event will benefit future Chamber events and business.

Prizes will be awarded for “putting contest, closest to the pin, hole-in-one and more.”
Dinner will be included in the fee with tee-off scheduled for after dinner.

The Don Knabe Golf Center is located at 13717 Shoemaker Ave. For further information, call the Chamber at 562-864-7785.
