NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

ORDINANCE NO. 25-1764 / ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT NO. 2025-03

Place: City Council Chambers, Norwalk City Hall, 12700 Norwalk Boulevard, Norwalk, CA 90650

Description: The City Council of the City of Norwalk will conduct a public hearing to consider the adoption of Ordinance No. 25-1764 / Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) No. 2025-03 to amend various sections of Title 17 of the Norwalk Municipal Code (NMC) as it relates to standards for convenience stores (liquor stores), discount stores, personal use – laundromats, vehicle/automobile washing, payday loan establishments, mixed-use development, emergency shelters/low barrier navigation centers, group homes, residential care facilities, and tandem parking in residential zones.

Environmental Review Information: Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), this project will qualify for the “common sense” exemption (CEQA Guidelines 15061(b)(3)). It can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment; therefore, the activity is not subject to CEQA.

Public Comment: Interested persons are invited to attend this hearing and be heard regarding this matter. Written comments may be submitted to the City Council prior to the time set for the hearing. Address written comments: Attention City Clerk at the address noted above or by email to Clerk@norwalkca.gov. You may watch the meeting on Charter Channel 3, Verizon Fios Channel 32, or livestream through the City’s website. If you challenge the proposed matter, you may be limited to only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered prior to the public hearing.
