Rancho Los Cerritos’ summer concert series in Long Beach kicks off with acclaimed roots rock/alternative country duo, The Mastersons.
Dubbed by Esquire as one of the “Bands You Need to Know Right Now,” The Mastersons -- married couple Chris Masterson and Eleanor Whitmore -- bring their folk-with-an-edge sound to the Rancho’s season opener.

The success from their 2012 debut album, Birds Fly South, was followed by the release of Good Luck Charm in 2014. That album was premiered by the New York Times and praised by Mother Jones for its “big-hearted lyrics, tight song structures, and sweetly intertwined harmonies.” Their new album, Transient Lullaby, was released May 19.
Guests can arrive as early as 4:30 p.m. for pre-concert picnicking; musical performances take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and low chairs or blankets. No pets.
