Speakers announced for annual mayor's prayer breakfast

NORWALK – Pastors Philip and Holly Wagner, the founders of the Oasis Church in Los Angeles, will serve as the keynote speakers for the 2017 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast next month.

The Wagners will focus on the importance of communication and support in relationships. Both have authored several books on love and marriage. Their message intersects themes of community, friendships, and family.

The event, sponsored by the Door of Hope Youth and Family Resource Center, is being held on Feb. 14, 6:30-8:30 a.m. at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, located at 13111 Sycamore Drive in Norwalk.

Tickets are available for a $20 donation. Table sponsorships are also offered. For tickets and sponsorship information contact Pastor Arthur McKibben at (310) 809-7679.

CAPTION: Norwalk Women’s Club members brought smiles to over 100 hospitalized veterans in Long Beach. They personally hand delivered the Christmas gift boxes on Dec. 3 and thanked them for their service. The boxes contained, warm socks, beanies, deck of cards, art therapy coloring books, candy, various other items and personal grooming items. The veterans were very appreciative.  Eloisa Velasquez, the main organizer, worked hard to make this project happen and she hopes to make it a long lasting tradition for the Norwalk Women’s Club.
