NORWALK – The Norwalk Senior Center is inviting residents 50 and older to join a tour of the Kellogg estate on March 8.
Located on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Kellogg house was constructed in 1926 as the West Coast retreat for breakfast cereal magnate W. K. Kellogg.
The ranch-style home, complete with fine architectural detail and original furnishings, played host to celebrities like President Ronald Reagan, Walt Disney, Rudy Valentino and Charles Lindbergh, but also served as lodging for the Army during World War II.
Tour participants will depart from the Norwalk Arts and Sports Complex parking lot, located at 13000 Clarkdale Ave., at 9 a.m., and return at 5:30 p.m.
Transportation, admission to the estate, and a buffet lunch are provided for $20 per person. Space is limited.
Registration for Norwalk residents opens on Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. Open registration starts Feb. 14. For registration information, call the senior center at (562) 929-5580.
