NORWALK -- Two people were killed in Norwalk early Monday morning after the minivan they were riding in was rear-ended by a motorist driving under the influence, authorities said.
The collision occurred at about 1 a.m. on the northbound 605 Freeway at Rosecrans Avenue. Officials say a man under the influence of an unknown substance rear-ended the minivan, causing both vehicles to burst into flames.
Two people in the minivan died at the scene. The intoxicated driver survived and was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers.
The names of the suspect or victims have not been released as of Monday morning.
