Norwalk man accused of robbing Norm's restaurant in Downey

NORWALK -- A Norwalk man has been arrested and charged with robbing the Norm’s restaurant in Downey late last year.

Edward Ramon Rodriguez, 46, is accused of brandishing a handgun and robbing the restaurant at about 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 12. He ordered the cashier to give him money from the register before Rodriguez fled through the front doors to a waiting vehicle, authorities said.

Rodriguez was arrested March 3, although police didn’t announce the arrest until March 16. Rodriguez is facing similar robbery charges in Huntington Beach.

Prosecutors charged Rodriguez with felony armed robbery. He is currently being held at the Orange County Jail pending a court appearance.
